About our Christmas celebrations
Pilgrim Lutheran will feature a full set of Christmas activities again this holiday season.
Besides the Children’s Christmas Program to be held during our 11:00 AM service on December 16th, there will be a Christmas Brass Concert on Friday, December 14th, beginning at 7:30 PM. The newly-formed brass group
will play a full set of holiday favorites.
We’ll offer our usual Sunday Schedule on the Sunday before Christmas Eve, December 23rd. Then we move into our special Christmas services.
We’ll offer a Christmas Eve Family Service at 7:30 PM. Entitled “Wonder, Ponder, Glorify, & Praise,” this service will feature the Junior Choir who will sing Oh, Come All Ye Children and Welcome, Welcome Savior. We’ll also offer a traditional candlelighting ceremony as part of the service.
Later Christmas Eve night, at 11:00 PM, we’ll offer a special Christmas Eve Candlelight Service. Entitled “Come and see; go and tell,” this service will feature our Senior Choir. The congregation will join in with some of your favorite Christmas carols. Following an old Pilgrim custom we’ll conclude the service around the altar with the candlelighting ceremony.
Finally, Christmas Day, December 25th, will be the high point of our Christmas celebration. We’ll have our Christmas Festival Worship at 11:00 AM. Our theme will be “The Word Descends” and will emphasize Jesus’ coming to earth to be our Savior and Lord. We’ll include several of the “classic” Christmas hymns we all know and love.
We hope to see you often here at Pilgrim Lutheran over the Christmas holidays as we seek to break through all the celebrations around Christmas to celebrate the real reason for Christmas: Jesus’ birth for us to take away all our sin! Merry Christmas!
