Advent is to be a time of watchful waiting. Waiting for Christ to come, waiting for Christ to be born within us, waiting for Christ to take over ourselves to the degree that we become more like the master: loving, serving, sharing, blessing. Imagine having the light of Christ shining through us more fully, more completely.

Imagine becoming what St. Paul prayed that the people of the Philippian Church might become:

“…that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God” (Philippians 1:9-11, NIV).
