Pilgrim’s Senior Luncheon
Pilgrim’s Senior Luncheon provides a time for Seniors to get together for a meal and fellowship.
A home-cooked meal is served. There is plenty for everyone to eat. You will also be given an additional serving of food to take home for another meal. If you have someone else at home, we will send a meal home
for them as well. Please let us know if you don’t get all the meals you need.
You are welcome to bring cards or games and to stay after the meal to continue enjoying your afternoon together. We will mark your food items with your name on it and place them in the refrigerator for you to take home when you’re ready to leave.
If there is enough leftover food and you know of a Pilgrim who is a shut-in or someone else who could use some food that you are willing to take a meal to, please let us know at the beginning of the luncheon. We’ll get a meal ready for them, too. You can then take it to them following the luncheon.
Your food is in take-home plastic containers which we encourage you to return them to church to be reused. A box has been placed on top of the glass display case in the Fellowship Hall for you to place the containers you return for this purpose. Cindy Kreft will check this each Sunday and take them home. She does rewash the containers right before she puts food in them.
There is a basket on the refreshment table to receive any free-will donations to cover the cost of the meal. Neither Pastor Jim or Cindy Kreft receive any compensation for providing this service. This is a ministry that God placed on their hearts and they have chosen to do this service for you and for their Lord.
Many times we have people who volunteer to provide the dessert for the meals. If you would like to help by
providing a dessert, please talk with Cindy. If you turn in your receipt for the desserts, we will reimburse you from the free will donation. Some choose to provide the dessert as their contribution for the meal.
If you have friends who might benefit from coming to this meal, please be sure to encourage them to attend as well.
Finally, we ask that you sign up (if possible) to provide a best count of those who plan to come eat with us. This helps with our preparations. However, if you haven’t signed up and find that you can attend after all be sure to come. We always plan for a few extra just in case.
We pray that you’ll find this Pilgrim Senior Luncheon ministry to be a blessing for you. Be sure to join us!
