2009 Summer Sunday Adult Bible Class
For the past several years, the Sunday morning Adult Bible Class has used the Gospel lesson for that particular Sunday as the starting point for its study that day. We’ll change that for this summer. We’ll go through what we, as Lutheran Christians, “believe, teach, and confess.” Our study will begin with a major point from Luther’s Six Chief Parts from the Small Catechism. What exactly we’ll focus in on that day will depend, as always, on the students present and the Lord’s guidance.
To give some background in each of these topic areas I’ll print out copies of materials I’ve used before in an Adult Information Class setting. You can pick up the appropriate one in the classroom and review it prior to the class. Or, if you prefer, you can break out your own copy of Luther’s Small Catechism and review in that way. Either way will work and would be beneficial as you begin your prayerful reflections on the coming topic.
Below is a beginning outline of the topic for each date so you can plan accordingly. It takes into account my vacation and a fall conference as well. If needed, we’ll adapt the schedule as needed.
Join us in this important summer study.
