Sunday School Christmas Program
Pilgrim’s Sunday School Christmas Program is another way to prepare. To be held at 11:00 AM on Sunday, December 13th, Savior of the Nations uses Christmas songs written by composers around the world to celebrate Christ’s birth. This will be an opportunity for you to enjoy the special songs of Christmas during the season of Advent. We encourage you to come to this special program!
To help prepare the Sunday School is using the 9:45 AM Sunday School Opening time to rehearse and also rehearsing at 1:30 PM on Saturday afternoons. If your children would like to be involved be sure to have them come! Contract Kristi Drefke (301-320-5664) who is taking the lead in this project.
Christmas Music at Pilgrim
Another place to hear the music of Christmas is to come to the Christmas edition of Music at Pilgrim on Friday, December 18th, beginning at 7:30 PM. This concert will be a Christ
mas concert featuring Pilgrim members and friends. In addition to our choirs there will be a host of small ensemble performances and solos. Please come to support your local talent! If you’re interested in performing please contact Michael Rossi.
Christmas Worship Services
Finally, we have our special Christmas services for you to attend. At our Family Christmas Service at 7:30 PM, we celebrate this holy birth with a service of readings and carols. As we ponder the events of that night through song we’ll ask the same question the questioning child asked in the Jewish Passover Celebration, “What makes this night special above all others?” That’s the question we’ll seek to answer with this Family Christmas Service at 7:30 PM.
Our 11:00 PM service will be entitled Christmas Presence. The old hymn announced that “God Himself is present.” At Christmas we
celebrate how God has made Himself present, namely, in “Immanuel,” “God with us,” God Himself now in human flesh appearing. As we celebrate Christ’s presence among us at Christmas we’ll also have an opportunity to experience Him in a unique way through
the Lord’s Supper.
Finally, our Christmas Day Festival Worship Service will be held at 11:00 AM. On Christmas Day Isaiah brings us a message of joy for God’s people for the Savior has come and He has brought His reward with Him. That’s why God’s people sing, “Joy to the world, the Lord is come! Joy to the world, the Savior reigns!” The reward is forgiveness, redemption, and holiness for everyone who believes in this Infant who came to buy us back from sin and Satan with His own blood. How wonderful it is that we are not forsaken we are Sought Out by God that we could live with Him forever. Join us at 11:00 AM.
December is all about Christmas — Christmas preparations, Christmas songs, Christmas programs. Join us in these different opportunities as we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus, the Christ, into our world to save us from our sin.
