Bible Prayer Meeting
To help us grow in our lives of study and prayer we’re continuing with our Bible Prayer Meeting experiment. This is a time of contemplation, discussion, and prayer that we hold in
Pilgrim’s sanctuary.
Our next set is Thursday, January 14th, at both 11:00 AM and 7:30 PM.
We’ll have one “movement,” which will have four parts:
- Contemplate: read the passage silently to yourself and prayerfully ponder what it means to you and how it relates to the kingdom of God / hot it relates to bringing people into the kingdom.
- Discuss: join with your partner to discuss together what God is telling you through this passage.
- Pray: join with your partner in praying with one another [what you learned] about the passage. You can use the PTA prayer form of praise, thank, and ask. We’ll have more details about that suggested form at the first session.
- Reporting: We’ll then spend some time together as the groups of two join with all the other groups in sharing the God-given insights discerned through the process.
Finally we’ll close with a blessing and send the participants back out into the world to put into practice what they learned
through this process.
This time we’ll use John 4:1-42 as our text. We encourage you to join us.
Here’s a “preview” of the materials we’ll use at our session. They may change slightly but we’ll give you a copy that perhaps you might be led to join us. You may view either our Devotional handout or our our Meeting service folder.
