Winter ARC Blood Drive
On Tuesday, February 9th, the American Red Cross (ARC) will conduct its blood drive at Pilgrim, from 1:00 – 7:00 PM.
Generally you are eligible to donate if you are in good health, haven’t donated whole blood within the preceding 56 days (double red within 112 days), are 17 years of age or older (there is no top age limit), and weigh more than 110 pounds. However, if you are uncertain of the medical/physical qualifications, call the ARC at 1-800-272-2048 during regular business hours.
Appointments may be scheduled at any time (the sooner the better) by calling Dan Bella (301-949-5317). This helps to assure preferred donation time which helps to reduce delays. However, walk-ins are always welcome—especially first-time donors. This is another one of those times when it is good to bring a friend.
Refreshments will be served. If you are unable to donate, please consider volunteering a couple of hours either at the canteen or registration desk. Try it— it’s the right thing to do!
