If you’d like to learn more about Operation Andrew and how we’re implementing it here at Pilgrim Lutheran take a look at one (or more) of our Operation Andrew brochures. To help us grow in our lives of study and prayer we’re continuing with our Bible Prayer Meeting experiment. This is a time of contemplation, discussion, and prayer that we hold in Pilgrim’s sanctuary. Our next set is Thursday, January 14th,  at both 11:00 AM and 7:30 PM. What does The Present Future have to say. In helping us look to the future, Reggie McNeal talks about six “new realities” and, in each points out the “wrong” question — the one we often spend our time on — and the “tough” question — the one we should really be studying. Here are McNeal’s [...]

The Present Future DVD study series

Conversations change the world. Abraham’s conversation with an invisible God forever altered human history. Moses’ conversations with a voice emanating from a burning bush initiated the biggest event in Old Testament history. Paul’s conversation with a resurrected Jesus launched the Christian movement as a phenomenon. And, most dramatically, the Word became flesh—the conversation of God [...]

The Missional Church

As a follow-up to his book The Present Future I’ve started reading Reggie McNeal’s Missional Renaissance. For those Pilgrims who were present for our session with Dr. Scherer last fall, McNeal’s book is a continuation of that. This is from McNeal’s introduction: “The rise of the missional church is the single biggest development in Christianity [...]

A Baby Changes Everything (part 2)

That song continues to be stuck in my heart. Even though it’s Epiphany I believe that it’s appropriate to continue to keep these thoughts before you that they might help change your heart, too. As I mentioned last month the song concludes with these words: My whole life has turned around I was lost, but [...]

A Baby Changes Everything (part 1)

Sometimes a song sticks in your mind. This one stuck in my heart. I first heard it on Christmas Day evening. I was tired after a long couple of days so I plopped down in the chair and turned on the TV. There wasn’t much on so I kept flipping through the channels until I [...]

  • Operation Christmas Child

Here at Pilgrim Lutheran the PYC (for Pilgrim Lutheran in Christ) is heading up a project to pack shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child (OCC). A project of Samaritan's Purse, OCC seeks to demonstrate God's love in a tangible way to needy children around the world by providing them with a shoe box of gifts and share the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Join us in this effort to share Jesus with a child this Christmas.
